The Mike Avila campaign wants this site to work for every voter, including people who use screen readers, navigate by keyboard, or rely on magnification. Below is an honest account of what has been done and what has not. It is not a claim of certification.

What has been done

• Every image carries alternative text describing it.
• Every user-visible form field has an accessible name (a visible label or an aria-label), so screen readers announce what each field is for.
• Text and background colors were measured against the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1, and the focus indicator against the 3:1 minimum for non-text elements.
• A "Skip to content" link is the first item on every page, so keyboard users are not forced through the whole menu each time.
• Keyboard focus is always clearly visible.
• Pages use ordered headings and declare their language, which is what screen readers rely on to navigate.

What has not been done

We would rather say this plainly than imply testing that has not happened.

• No full manual audit with a screen reader across every page and flow.
• No review by an independent accessibility specialist.
• Third-party services used for forms and donations have not been individually audited, and their accessibility is outside our control.
• We do not claim full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance.

If something does not work for you

Please tell us and we will fix it. Reporting a real problem is the fastest way to get it resolved, and these reports are treated as priority work.
